The Cape Town Superyacht Culinary Academy is the flagship training centre for Superyacht Galley Chefs.
Located in the suburb of Hout Bay, one of the three leisure yachting harbours of South Africa, the training centre is ideally situated to gain the best experience and make this charismatic neighbourhood the perfect place to stay whilst visiting Cape Town. The Superyacht Culinary Academy offers the hands-on interactive courses designed to provide any trainee with the skills and expertise to become a professional aboard luxury yachts. We not only provide professional culinary training, but also offer Stewardess and Crew courses in Cape Town through our affiliate companies, some of whom are also located in Hout Bay.
Our comprehensive training is recommended for those who are seriously committed to the idea of joining the nautical industry or yacht crew that require additional skills to improve their career prospects. The course provides a truly hands-on and realistic interactive learning environment to prepare students for any situation.

MCA Food Hygiene Level 2 Certificate

All training classes are interactive and provide insights into the world of culinary arts aboard superyachts. Classes as no larger than 12 people at a time which keeps them intimate and personal.
All classes are taught by professionals that are still directly involved in the business and are willing to share their experiences and culinary secrets with you. Prepare yourself to discover new cooking techniques, fresh ideas, brilliant plating tips and test the boundaries of culinary norms.
The international seasons are between September and April each year.
Our training scheduled occur during the off-season (October – April) when crew get the chance to refresh their skills or upgrade to a new skill level.
Each destination offers scheduled training dates for the courses available.
