Aim

This course provides the opportunity for all crew (Deck Hands, Steward/esses and Chefs) to gain boat experience and knowledge necessary drive a powerboat and to stay safe while afloat. The course is the ideal complement to crew CV’s, making them more marketability and attractive to potential employers.

Guests are ferried between the yachts and the shore, and crew are given the task to manage the tender to assist with transport, provisioning and other general duties. It is essential to hold a license before you can drive the yacht’s tender or RiB (rigid inflatable boat).

Course overview

This two-day course may be conducted on a variety of different boats and provides the skills and background knowledge needed to drive a powerboat. It covers all aspects of RIB driving and you will learn how boats work and equipment needed on the boat. On passing, the students hold a Power Boat Level II Certificate.
