Course Overview
Experience being in charge, taking credit when it all goes well and being responsible when it doesn’t.
The Day Skipper Practical Course gives you the ability to be able to legally sail your own boat in daylight hours in International waters.
Learn to skipper a short passage with the instructor on hand to give advice and encouragement and ensure your safety.
Students will learn the principles of boat handling, rules of the road, sailing, crewing, navigation and watch keeping. You will also learn ropework, knots, rigging, maintenance and seamanship skills.
Assumed prior knowledge: Candidates should have previous sailing experience and at minimum a Competent Crew Certificate.
Ability after course: Knowledge to skipper a small yacht in familiar waters by day.
